Van der Ende Group further strengthens its position in water treatment with the acquisition of HortiSpeed’s operations

The acquisition marks the next step in the continued growth and international development of Van der Ende Group’s water treatment activities. At the same time, the organization is responding to the growing demand for high quality, sustainable, and reliable water management solutions within Controlled Environment Agriculture.

Strategic expansion of technology and expertise

With the addition of ECOfilter cloth filters, O2Solutions nanobubble systems, and Trumma Filter drum filters, Van der Ende Group expands its portfolio for water treatment and water quality. These technologies are used to remove solids from water streams, optimize dissolved oxygen levels, and improve overall water quality across a wide range of CEA applications.

The integration of these specialized product lines creates a comprehensive package that combines filtration, oxygen enrichment, and water management. This strengthens Van der Ende Group’s role as an innovative partner for installers and end users.

The acquisition aligns with Van der Ende Group’s existing activities in water technology and offers new opportunities to provide more comprehensive support to customers worldwide. By bringing together knowledge, technology, and product development, a more integrated offering is created, centered on reliability, efficiency, and practical applicability.

Additionally, the expansion provides room for further innovation and international growth within the rapidly developing market for water treatment in general.

To ensure a smooth transition and continuity for the market, HortiSpeed founder Cees de Haan will remain involved in the company’s activities for the foreseeable future. In this role, he will support the transfer of knowledge, product development, and further integration of the technologies within Van der Ende Group.

This allows existing customers and partners to continue to count on the trusted quality, expertise, and support, while at the same time further building on the scaling up and professionalization of the activities.

Phased integration with a focus on stability and growth

Van der Ende Group has deliberately opted for a phased integration of the activities. In the first phase, the emphasis is on continuity for customers, suppliers, and partners. In parallel, work is underway to further harmonize product documentation, processes, and positioning within the organization’s broader portfolio.
This approach ensures stability in the market while creating room to further expand the activities.

Joint presentation at GreenTech Amsterdam 2026

The technologies will be presented jointly for the first time at the Van der Ende Group booth during GreenTech Amsterdam 2026. Visitors will be able to discover the ECOfilter, O2Solutions, and Trumma Filter product lines at the Van der Ende Group booth.

According to Lex van der Ende, the acquisition represents an important strategic step: “With this expansion, we are not only strengthening our portfolio but also our position within the international water treatment market. The technologies align perfectly with our existing activities and enable us to support customers worldwide even better with innovative and reliable solutions.”

With the acquisition of HortiSpeed’s operations, Van der Ende Group is taking the next step in its ambition to further grow as a leading player in water technology for the national and international CEA market.
